Jay Shah inaugurates Tanzania's first ICC-approved cricket arena

ICC Chairman Jay Shah inaugurated Tanzania’s first ICC-approved cricket arena at the University of Dar es Salaam on Monday, calling it a landmark for African cricket. The venue will serve as Tanzania’s national high-performance centre for men’s, women’s, and Under-19 teams. Cricket participation in Tanzania has surged 70 percent since 2024 to over 158,000 players, and the arena is set to host two international tournaments this month.
