A new generation of Ladakhi designers, including Padma Saldon, Padma Yangchan, Jigmet Disket, Stanzin Palmo, Jigmat Norbu, and Jigmat Wangmo, is transforming traditional garments like gonchas and yak-wool coats into modern, sustainable fashion. Labels such as Namza Couture, 2112 Saldon, and Jigmat Couture have gained Bollywood attention, with Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, and Kareena Kapoor wearing their pieces. The designers aim to make Ladakhi clothing wearable daily while rebuilding the region's textile economy, showcasing work at London Fashion Week and Lakmé Fashion Week.
