Minister orders audit into medical oxygen demand, expenditure

Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav ordered a comprehensive audit into medical oxygen demand and expenditure after Liquid Medical Oxygen costs rose sharply in the post-Covid period, from ₹60.51 crore (2016-2020) to ₹180.82 crore (2022-2026). The audit, conducted by PATH, covers eight pilot hospitals and will report by October 15. Officials also revealed that 161 of 162 PSA oxygen plants lie idle.
