Tamil Nadu tops India's deceased organ donations in 2025

Tamil Nadu led India in deceased organ donations in 2025 with 266 donors, ahead of Telangana and Karnataka, according to NOTTO's annual report. India recorded a record 20,138 transplants, with kidneys accounting for 62%. Union Minister Anupriya Patel launched the 'Jug Jug Jiyo Abhiyaan' awareness campaign, noting a gender gap: women made up 68% of living donors but only 22% of recipients.
