Beirut blast anniversary overshadowed by new destruction in Lebanon

On the sixth anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, families again demanded justice as southern Lebanon lies in ruins from Israeli attacks. The war between Israel and Hezbollah has displaced over a million people, with reconstruction costs estimated up to $20bn. Nearly 100,000 were already displaced before this year's escalation, and recovery efforts remain blocked, echoing the unresolved 2020 blast.
