Wenger: Scrapping Fifa private investment plan was absolutely necessary

Arsene Wenger, Fifa's chief of global football development, said scrapping the plan to allow private investment in Fifa competitions was "absolutely necessary and beyond question." The proposal by Fifa president Gianni Infantino offered 211 member associations $40m each but collapsed after Uefa's 55 nations threatened to boycott. Wenger said he was not involved and learned of the project from media reports.
