An Indian parliamentary panel has pressed Meta, Google, X, YouTube and Snapchat over alleged bias, including the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's video on Facebook. The committee, chaired by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, sought a personal apology from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and threatened withdrawal of Meta's safe harbour protection under the IT Act. Members also raised concerns about algorithmic manipulation, citing billions of views for protest groups.
