India rules out separate incentive policy for flex-fuel vehicles

The Ministry of Heavy Industries said it has not formulated any separate phased national policy to incentivise flex-fuel vehicles running on blends with more than 20% ethanol, nor has it studied such incentives. Defending the E20 programme, the Centre cited testing showing no abnormal engine wear or corrosion, and argued it strengthens energy security and shields consumers from oil price volatility while balancing water, food security and farmers' interests.
