Lombard Jr. homers in debut as Yankees blank Cardinals

George Lombard Jr. hit a home run in his major league debut, leading the New York Yankees to a 2-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. The 21-year-old shortstop's 392-foot shot in the fifth inning made him the first Yankees shortstop to homer in his debut. Jazz Chisholm Jr. also homered, and Ryan Weathers pitched six scoreless innings.
