Exiled Bangladesh PM Hasina to address media after two years

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ousted in 2024 after a deadly crackdown on protesters, is set to make a rare public appearance via videolink on Wednesday from New Delhi, where she has lived in exile. The event, hosted by the Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia, is titled "Sheikh Hasina's homecoming" and comes despite a death sentence in absentia and an extradition request from Dhaka. Bangladesh has banned local media from airing the speech.
