Chad le Clos's Home Destroyed in Fire During Record Commonwealth Run

Olympic champion swimmer Chad le Clos said his Cape Town apartment was destroyed in a fire on July 30, a day after he became the most decorated athlete in Commonwealth Games history with a record 21st medal. The 34-year-old South African, who won bronze in the men's 4×100m medley relay in Glasgow, said nothing was left to salvage. He offered condolences for an elderly neighbor who died in the fire and said his foundation would raise money to help other residents rebuild.
