Crystal Palace close in on US star Gozo, stand firm on Wharton

Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of United States youth international Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake for £11m, as new manager Pierre Sage strengthens his squad. Palace are determined to keep midfielder Adam Wharton amid Chelsea interest, while Chelsea are close to a £16.3m deal for Rayo Vallecano defender Pep Chavarria. Palace also expect to offer Ismaila Sarr a new deal to fend off Fenerbahçe.
