SpaceX rocket piece believed to crash into moon

A piece of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, floating in space since last year, is believed to have crashed into the moon on Wednesday at 5,400mph (8,690km/h), likely creating a new crater near Einstein Crater. The event posed no danger to Earth, NASA said. The upper stage of the rocket, weighing 4 metric tonnes, was left in orbit after a January lunar lander mission.
