Meta's chief global affairs officer Joel Kaplan apologised to India's IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on August 5 for mistakenly restricting a Facebook video by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The video, posted on July 23, addressed students and Gen Z about exam paper leaks and was briefly removed for 5-6 hours on July 28. The apology follows government scrutiny and a parliamentary committee demand for an apology from CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who also apologised over CSAM and deepfake content.
