Bangladesh outraged over Hasina's Delhi media interaction

Bangladesh's foreign ministry on Wednesday expressed outrage over deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina's audio-only virtual press conference from New Delhi, calling it an affront to its sovereignty and warning it could hurt bilateral ties. Dhaka said it had cautioned India in advance but the event proceeded. Hasina, who fled to India in August 2024, reiterated her determination to return. Bangladesh also noted India has not responded to its extradition requests under the 2013 treaty.
