Salmonella outbreak tied to Mexican jalapenos sickens 345 in 27 US states

U.S. health officials are investigating a Salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeno peppers from Sinaloa, Mexico, that has sickened 345 people across 27 states. The supplier, Coast Citrus Distributors, has recalled the peppers, which were distributed to restaurants including Chipotle and QDOBA. Both chains have stopped using the affected jalapenos. The FDA says there is no ongoing risk to consumers from these establishments, but advises against eating, selling, or serving recalled peppers.
