Congress MP seeks debate on Jantar Mantar police action

Congress MP Manickam Tagore moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, demanding a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the police action during a protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20. Tagore cited allegations of excessive force, including lathi charges, pellet guns, tear gas, and water cannons against students, and called for an independent judicial inquiry, withdrawal of FIRs, and an apology from the Prime Minister if wrongdoing is found.
