Climate change doubled Canada wildfire risk, study finds

A new study by World Weather Attribution finds that human-caused climate change doubled the likelihood of the extreme fire weather that fueled Canada's massive summer wildfires, which sent smoke across the U.S. and drew criticism from President Donald Trump. The scientists say the U.S., with its large historical emissions, bears responsibility, countering Trump's focus on Canadian mismanagement. The study, not yet peer-reviewed, compared current conditions to a pre-industrial climate.
