Rare Amur tiger released in Kazakhstan after 70 years

A female Amur tiger named Umit has been released into Kazakhstan's Ile-Balkhash Nature Reserve, marking the first such release in 70 years. The program aims to restore the tiger population that vanished from Central Asia a century ago. Umit is one of four tigers transferred from Russia, and her adaptation will be monitored before deciding on releasing the others.
