Strait of Hormuz deal close, Iran says

Iran said Wednesday it is in the final stage of drafting an agreement with Oman to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with U.S. President Donald Trump saying a deal could be announced this week. The waterway, through which a fifth of the world's oil and gas once passed, has been closed since late February when the U.S. and Israel began strikes on Iran, disrupting global energy markets. The deal is contingent on the U.S. lifting its blockade on Iranian ports, and both sides would need to compromise on control of the strait.
