Israeli settler charged in killing of Palestinian activist

Israeli prosecutors have charged settler Yinon Levi with reckless manslaughter in the July 2025 killing of Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in the occupied West Bank. The indictment, filed in district court, also includes charges of armed trespassing and malicious property damage. It marks the first time since Oct. 7, 2023, that an Israeli has been indicted for a Palestinian's death in the territory, according to rights group B'Tselem. Levi's lawyer called the decision a mistake.
