CRPF suicides hit five-year high in 2025

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recorded 59 suicides in 2025, the highest in five years, with over 80% of victims from the constabulary. Official data for 2021-25 shows 262 personnel died by suicide, 77% while on duty. Officials attribute cases largely to domestic issues compounded by service rigours. The force has initiated measures to support troops' mental health.
