The Union Government is likely to discuss the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, in Parliament on August 12, amid ongoing Opposition protests and objections from Christian groups and minority organisations. A delegation met Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday to demand withdrawal or referral to a Joint Parliamentary Committee. Mizoram CM Lalduhoma said Shah assured the amendments would not be retrospective.
