Israel charges settler over killing of Palestinian activist

Israeli prosecutors have charged settler Yinon Levy with reckless manslaughter over the July 2025 shooting of Palestinian activist Odeh Hathaleen in the occupied West Bank. Hathaleen helped film the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land. The indictment, the first of its kind in nearly three years, also includes charges of armed trespassing and malicious property damage. Rights group B'Tselem says it marks a potential turning point in accountability for settler violence.
