France offers 114 Rafale jets, 94 to be built in India

France has submitted a detailed technical and commercial proposal to India for the government-to-government purchase of 114 Rafale fighter jets, with 94 to be manufactured in India. The deal, valued at around Rs 3.25 lakh crore, is being reviewed by the Defence Ministry and the Indian Air Force. It aims to boost local aerospace manufacturing, with opportunities worth Rs 1.6 lakh crore for Indian firms like Tata and L&T, and integrate indigenous weapons such as Astra missiles.
