Bhawana Kanth becomes India's first woman 'Top Gun' pilot

Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth has become the first Indian woman to complete the Indian Air Force's elite Fighter Combat Leader (FCL) course, earning the 'Top Gun' title. The rigorous 20-week program at Gwalior's Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment trains pilots in advanced combat tactics. Kanth, commissioned in 2016 as one of the first three women fighter pilots, previously became the first woman cleared for daytime MiG-21 combat missions. Her achievement follows a decade after women were first allowed in the fighter stream.
