Tennessee primaries set up key House race in redistricted seat

Tennessee primary voters selected state senator Brent Taylor and state representative Justin Pearson as Republican and Democratic nominees for the revamped 9th congressional district, a seat central to Donald Trump's plan to retain a slim Republican House majority. The district, previously Democratic-leaning and majority Black, was redrawn to favor Republicans, stretching 200 miles from Memphis to Nashville. In another race, Republican Andy Ogles lost to Charlie Hatcher, a rare Trump endorsement defeat.
