India on Friday dismissed criticism by US Congressman Riley Moore over the proposed Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, asserting that legislative matters are internal affairs decided by Parliament. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal noted that many countries, including the United States, regulate foreign funds. Moore had alleged the bill could enable government takeovers of churches and religious charities, calling it 'a clear attack against Christians' and warning of impact on bilateral ties.
