IMD forecasts widespread rain in northwest India, warmer days ahead

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over the Western Himalayan region and adjoining plains of northwest India this week, though day temperatures are expected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius. The monsoon remains 12% below the long-period average in the region, with Punjab and Haryana experiencing deficient seasonal rainfall. No heat waves or warm nights are expected.
