Pakistan urges NATO-like Islamic alliance after Mecca defence pact

Pakistan's defence minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif called on Islamic countries to form a NATO-like military alliance, urging them to set aside differences. His remarks followed the signing of a defence pact with Turkey and Saudi Arabia in Mecca, which commits the three to treat an armed attack on one as an attack on all.
