FIFA has defended President Gianni Infantino against what it calls a 'concerted effort' to undermine him, following a Telegraph report alleging he paid a six-figure sum to a former UEFA employee with whom he had an intimate relationship. UEFA confirmed the departure payment was made but said it was in line with regulations at the time. Infantino denies the allegations.
