Israeli authorities have issued a tender for 627 new housing units in the Kochav Yaakov settlement in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission. The project, covering 253.7 dunams, was approved in April 2025 and is seen as deepening the separation between Jerusalem and Palestinian areas. Settlement expansion and settler violence have surged this year, with over 11,000 attacks recorded since January.
