Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan sign defence pact; Egypt may join

Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement on Friday, pledging collective defence similar to NATO's Article 5. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the pact is not aimed at Iran and is open to expansion, with Egypt expected to join once technical issues are resolved.
