Govt mulls raising CCEA FDI approval threshold to Rs 15,000 crore

The government is considering raising the threshold for FDI proposals requiring Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approval to Rs 15,000 crore from the current Rs 5,000 crore, sources said. The move aims to improve the investment climate and ease doing business. The proposal is at a discussion stage, and the government is also considering easing FDI norms for downstream investments.
