Iran, Oman develop new Hormuz security mechanisms

Iran and Oman are developing new mechanisms to monitor safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Foreign Ministry said Monday. Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said talks are progressing smoothly, with an understanding reached on a traffic map, though technical discussions on a joint statement continue. The mechanisms will also cover environmental issues, maritime services, and crime fighting.
