Parliament passes taxation bill; UPI stays free, says FM

Parliament on Monday passed the Taxation and other Laws (Amendment) Bill, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirming that UPI transactions will remain free for consumers. The bill, already passed by the Lok Sabha, was cleared by the Rajya Sabha via voice vote. It also aims to attract foreign capital and boost electronics manufacturing.
