On Aug. 10, 1972, a bright fireball streaked across the daytime sky over North America, visible in parts of the U.S. and Canada. The object entered the atmosphere over Utah and exited over Alberta about 100 seconds later. Analysis suggested it was 10 to 45 feet in diameter, depending on its composition.
