US records hottest month ever in July, NOAA says

The contiguous United States experienced its hottest month on record in July, with an average temperature of 76.89°F (24.94°C), surpassing the previous record set in July 1936 during the Dust Bowl. Nighttime lows were exceptionally warm, breaking the old record by 0.7°F, a sign of human-caused climate change.
