Jackie, internet-famous bald eagle, dies after illness

Jackie, the bald eagle who became an internet sensation and a symbol of California's species recovery, died Monday after treatment for an illness. The bird was found injured on July 17 and treated for anemia at the Ojai Raptor Center. Her caretakers announced the death, noting the global following she had gained through a nest camera.
