The Los Angeles Lakers are to be sold for a record $12.5bn to Josh Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger, less than a year after Mark Walter took a majority stake. The deal, which includes the NBA franchise's controlling interest, marks the highest price ever for a sports team. Walter acquired the team from the Buss family in October 2025 for an estimated $10bn.
