Philippines drug war victims testify before truth commission

Families of victims of former President Rodrigo Duterte's drug war testified before a civil society-led Truth Commission in Manila, seeking closure and accountability. The commission, launched in May, held its first public hearing on Friday, with Luzviminda Siapo, whose son Raymart was killed in 2017, as the first witness. The government estimates 6,000 deaths, but rights groups say the toll may be 20,000-30,000.
