Top clubs threatened Club World Cup boycott before Fifa plan collapsed

Europe's leading clubs threatened to boycott future Club World Cups unless Fifa president Gianni Infantino withdrew his Fifa Forward Enterprise scheme, hours before the plan was scrapped. The European Football Clubs group demanded a joint venture with Fifa be completed before TV rights sales for the 2028 Women's Club World Cup, and also raised concerns over delayed solidarity payments.
