Liechtenstein to Allow Women to Inherit Throne

Liechtenstein's royal house announced Saturday that the principality's succession rules will change from male primogeniture to absolute primogeniture, allowing the first-born child, regardless of sex, to inherit the throne. Hereditary Prince Alois confirmed the change, approved by a two-thirds majority of eligible family members. The move won't affect the immediate line of succession, as Prince Hans-Adam II remains head of state with Alois as his successor.
