India has for the first time fixed maximum LPG production targets for 21 refineries and upstream companies, totaling 63,810 tonnes per day, to build a domestic supply buffer after the West Asia conflict exposed import vulnerabilities. The order, issued August 13, aims to prevent future shortages and rationing, with Reliance's older refinery assigned the largest share at 18,000 tonnes daily.
