Iran, Oman near deal on Hormuz ship transit

Iran said Monday it is finalizing a joint statement with Oman on managing ship transit through the Strait of Hormuz, with an understanding reached on the route map. The deal, which would reopen the strait without tolls, faces unclear U.S. approval as a 60-day negotiating period expires.
