Russian anti-war politician jailed for 11 years

Russian opposition politician Lev Shlosberg was sentenced to 11 years and one month in a penal colony for discrediting the armed forces. The 63-year-old deputy head of the liberal Yabloko party condemned the verdict as punishment for his political stance. The ruling came as Russia's Supreme Court rejected Yabloko's appeal against a ban from September's parliamentary elections.
