Luigi Mangione's state murder trial in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has been postponed indefinitely after his lawyers filed a double jeopardy motion following his federal guilty plea. Judge Gregory Carro canceled the Sept. 8 trial and set an Oct. 9 deadline for prosecutors to respond, with a hearing on Dec. 10. Mangione pleaded guilty to federal stalking charges and faces sentencing on Dec. 18.
