Western Himalaya warms fastest, loses most snow: study

A new study finds the western Himalaya is warming faster than central and eastern stretches, with winter nights warming more than days. Spring snow loss there could triple under high emissions by 2100. The research, led by BIT Ranchi with IITM Pune and Ashoka University, analyzed 120 years of data and climate projections.
