Woman sentenced to 6 years for plot to kill Treasury Secretary

Riley English, 26, of Massachusetts, was sentenced to six years and one month in prison for bringing homemade firebombs to the U.S. Capitol in January 2025 to kill Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The judge noted her plan had an 'exceedingly low' chance of success, and she will get credit for time served.
