Climate change adds 2°C to Mediterranean heat, study finds

Climate change added about 2°C to Mediterranean sea temperatures this summer, driving marine heatwaves across Europe and threatening ecosystems, fisheries, and coastal communities, according to a World Weather Attribution study. Some areas saw temperatures 6°C above normal, with 90% of the Bay of Biscay and 80% of the Western Mediterranean affected.
